The
study examined the conflict between cultures in Nigeria and western society as
represented in Wole Soyinka’s play the Lion and the Jewel. The result of the
study shows that Soyinka manages to reflect to the world that dominated culture
is the traditional one besides reflecting the view of the world, beliefs, and
condition cultures. Based on the text this study used qualitative descriptive
method that data from wole Soyinka’s play the lion and the jewel. Soyinka
depicts the post colonial Africa, where modernity and traditions are in
constant conflict. The focus of this study was to demonstrate how Soyinka uses
characters, themes, and plot to investigate
the conflict between cultures

This
study examined Nigeria’s situation by focusing on the identifiable traditional
aesthetics deployed in Many Colours Make the Thunder-King as a means of
satirizing Nigerian leaders and also for possible re-construction of their
characters towards enhancement of a better society. This qualitative data
research evaluated the African oral aesthetics deployed in Osofian’s many
colours make the Thunder-king with the aim of satirizing the unpleasant social
political situation in Nigeria and also proffering possible solutions her
leader. According the researcher said that the oral literature is not usually
considered as a possible means of solving the social and economic challenges
encountered in African countries, it is become reason why he observed this
subject. The researcher concluded and recommended that Nigerian leaders should
go back to their traditional roots to seek the basis for economic, political
and social innovation and progress if they are to succeed in developing the
country

This
research was about Looking at ‘Modern India’ in Mark Tully’s no full stops in
India and non-stop India. The aim of this paper is to analyse how India has
been pictured in these stories. The significance reason why the author researches
this are for two reasons – firstly, that these stories come from the pen of an
author who is not an Indian but British by birth; and secondly, because the
author claims that in these stories, ‘Indians do as much of the speaking as
possible. The result of this study shows that the researcher believes of this
paper should contribute to define India’s present reality in a new light, which
can be further researched into. The methodology used in this paper is mainly
analytical, and combines tools of postcolonial theory and ideological
criticism.
